Christmas Tree Recycling
Drop Off Your Tree.... For Free 
Real, non-flocked trees can be recycled after the holidays for free during the month of January at Big Oak Flat/Groveland Transfer Station and Cal Sierra Transfer Station.
Free mulch is being offered at the Earth Resource Facility with your tree drop off.

New Battery and Cell Phone Collection Program
Tuolumne County residents now have new locations to drop off used household batteries and old cell phones. Read more.....for items accepted, how to prepare them prior to drop off, and the list of drop off locations.

Solid Waste Responsibilities

The Tuolumne County Solid Waste Division is responsible for ensuring that solid waste disposal services, which protect the public health and the environment, meet state and federal mandates for integrated waste management, and comply with waste disposal regulations.

The Solid Waste Division oversees the collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste within Tuolumne County. The division is also responsible for the development, implementation, and promotion of recycling programs, hazardous waste collection, used oil and oil filter collection, electronic waste collection, compliance of illegal dumping, and monitoring of the closed landfills.
